How schools teach here
It may feel different from where you went to school. That's okay.
Learning by asking (inquiry)
Teachers often give a question or project instead of a lecture. Children research, discuss and present. This is normal and builds independence.
Less memorising, more explaining
Marks go to showing understanding and reasons. At home, ask 'how do you know?' rather than drilling answers.
Group work
Working in teams is assessed. Shy children can practise speaking up at home about their day.
Report grades A–E
C means 'sound' — working at the expected level. It is not a bad grade. A and B mean above expected.
Talking to teachers
You can email or ask for a meeting anytime. Interpreters are free — ask the school office for one.
Homework is light in primary
Primary homework is usually short. Daily reading together (in any language) is the most valuable habit.
